JAMMU, June 28: The township of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) at Panama Chowk, has started to be turning into the breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects on account of the negligent attitude of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
The residents of the Colony alleged that due to the blockage of main drain at Panama Chowk, the sewerage and waste water has entered the colony premises with the result it has submerged rear portion of the colony park and turned it into breeding ground for mosquitoes and other insects.
“These insects are dangerous for the children as well as adults especially during the ongoing monsoon”, they said and appealed the JMC Commissioner, M Raju to look into the matter and pass appropriate directions to field officials of the Corporation to clean the choked drain.
