PG Teachers Association demands verification of degrees

JAMMU, Dec 30: J&K Post Graduate Teachers Association has expressed its serious concern and anguish over the fraudulent means being adopted by some teachers to secure promotions in the School Education Department.
A meeting of the Association was held under the chairmanship of Parmjeet Singh who alleged that there was no check on genuineness of the degrees, which were being obtained by some teachers and masters for promotion in the School Education Department.
Referring to the Friday evening incident when Police arrested some teachers, who were mass-copying in the B Ed exam, which was scheduled to be held on the next day, the Association leader alleged that some teachers were recently promoted as Masters on the basis of B Ed degree from same Jamia Urdu Aligarh University of UP.
PGTA has submitted so many representations for verification of degree of teachers, Masters and Lecturers before their promotion but the School Education is putting a deaf ear to the matter, the meet said and demanded immediate deletion of such defaulters from seniority list besides updating the seniority list.
Others who attended the meeting, included Naresh Kumar, Rakesh Kumar, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Ajay Kumar Kewal Krishan, Abdul Latif, Ram Paul, Surinder Kumar Sharma and Ravi Dass.
