Petrol bomb hurled on oil tankers

SRINAGAR, Sept 14: Two oil tankers today caught fire when some miscreants hurled petrol bomb on them at Lidpura.
According to the reports, two oil tankers bearing registration number JK01R-2909 and JK13-6939, which were on their way back to Jammu from Srinagar, was attacked with petrol bombs at Lidpura.
The matter came to light when security officials accompanying the oil tankers noticed flames coming out from the tankers. Due to timely detection of fire, no major damage was caused to the tankers. However, the cabin of one of the tankers got damaged in the fire.
According to president, J&K Petrol Tanker Owners’ Association, Anand Sharma, due to timely detection of fire, no major damage occurred to tankers, and drivers and cleaners of both the tankers are safe.
On a question, he said that it is really worrisome that now protesters are hurling petrol bombs on the innocent drivers of oil tankers for no fault. He told that the association will meet tomorrow at 3 pm and decide on whether to continue supply in Srinagar or not.
