Srinagar, Dec 24: The Awami National Conference (ANC) today complimented people of J&K for coming out in large numbers and stamping their approval for PAGD candidates in the recently held DDC elections.
The party said that its president, Begum Khalida Shah stated that the response of people was “…signalling to the country the need for immediate restoration of Article 370 and 35A abrogated unconstitutionally & illegally by the Modi Government on 5th Aug 2019,” the party said.
Begum, as per the party said an overwhelming majority has reposed faith in the agenda chalked out by the PAGD primarily for restoration of the Special Status of J&K State as laid down in the Constitution of India.
“The people have alongside handed over the responsibility on the shoulders of the People’s Alliance to carry out the task for development at the Panchayat levels,” she said.
ANC chief Muzaffar Shah said that the party will be filing a writ petition before the High Court of J&K challenging the decision of the State Election Commission declaring the Apni Party candidate successful in Bandipora A segment “after mass rigging & booth capture at Garoora A&B booths on the polling day under gross violations of the election rules,” Shah said.
He said that no action was taken on the two petitions submitted with all records to the DC Bandipora and the SEC on the polling day. He said that people of Bandipora have chosen the Alliance Candidate Gh Mohi-ud-Din Bhat to represent them.
