JAMMU, Dec 4: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today claimed that J&K people were waiting to teach a lesson to the BJP for allegedly failing to fulfill the promises made before coming to power at the Centre and in J&K.
“Before the 2014 polls, the BJP made tall promises. But after coming to power, they failed to fulfill these. Now, the people are waiting for the polls to teach them a lesson,” he said at a public meetings at Phallain Mandal DDC Constituency in Panchayat Kirpalpur in Ram Bhag, Panchayat Sum in Toph Manhasa and Reyan Mohalla in favour of Congress candidate Gurmeet Kour.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Block president Soudhagar Singh, Naib Sarpanch Ravi Pal, Block president Amrit Bali, Sarpanch Jyoti Motton, Sarpanch Bishan Dass, Lambardar Ram Singh, Raj Kumar and others.
Former minister said that everywhere we went people are fed up with the BJP. Farmers, labourers, poor, employees, traders all are fed up,” he said. All sections are fed up during the BJP regime, former Minister hit out at BJP leadership and likened them to conjurer who “talks big, but fails to deliver”. Former Minister urged the people to teach BJP a lesson for their misdeeds with Jammuites by voting Congress candidates in upcoming DDC elections.
Former minister slammed BJP Govt for acting as a mute spectator to the sufferings of the people from Jammu and Kashmir. BJP’s tall claims of creating job and employment for the youths has turned mere hoax. Bhalla said that country is witnessing all-time low economic growth and employment rate has dipped to an all-time low.
He alleged that the Centre was not taking any effective step to improve the economic situation of the country. He said that all sections of society are facing difficulties. He said that women folk are bearing maximum brunt of the anti-people policies being propagated by the NDA Government headed by Narendra Modi. He said except tall promises, nothing concrete has been done on the ground.
Bhalla maintained that BJP Govt has failed on all fronts. The BJP manifesto promised to ensure a peaceful and secure environment, where there is no place for either the perpetrators or exploiters of fear but nothing was done also in this regard also. Seeking restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, Bhalla said the Cong people are on the roads to convey the voice of the people to the President of India.
