BHADERWAH, June 2: Thousands of people living in different remote areas of mountainous Doda district are suffering due to the deplorable condition of roads under PMGSY.
One of the live examples of work culture of PMGSY is Beeru Basti to Dogli road from Khellani side and Malothi to Gazot road from Bhalla side.
Nine Kilometer road from Senai to Dugli road is connecting about four panchayats with twelve villages namely Khellani, Bhatoli, Bhara, Gouda, Southa, Danda, Sharounda, Chaprota, Nallaha, Dhraphra and Dugli having population of approximately eight thousands.
On the other side, Bhalla to Dugli road via Malothi Gajoth which is a road of 13 kilometer covering three panchayats with more than dozen small and big villages including Rishoo Pura, Malothi, Bhorwaha, Khorwaha, Gajoth, Baya Powa and Dugli having approximately more than nine thousands population are suffering due to the deplorable condition of the roads which can be observed from pictures viral on the social media.
Villagers alleged that they have informed and requested the PMGSY officials several times but all in vain, because PMGSY officials are not performing their duties with professional approach.
District administration was also informed time to time but nothing concrete has been done so far, they added.
One of the official in the state of anonymity told that PMGSY officials and administration machinery have left the roads unattended and their conditions have deteriorated in the past few years and accidents on these roads have taken several lives.
It is notable to mention here that Senai to Dugli and Bhalla to Dugli via Malothi Gajoth is a circular road but is not connected due to court stay on a small portion in between Dugli village over on a half kilometer stretch.
Villagers have demanded to LG UT Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter personally in order to complete the circular road which have a strong Tourism potential and hundreds of local youths can get self job opportunities.
