SRINAGAR, Feb 4: Senior vice president of J&K Peoples Conference and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said that the administration is invisible at this time of distress due to heavy snowfall in Valley.
While lashing out at authorities for failing to make proper arrangements in view of the heavy snowfall in the upper reaches of the Kashmir valley, Vakil said today in a statement that all claims made by Government about their preparedness have been exposed as the present snowfall causing immense hardships to the people especially upper belt of Rafiabad and Sopore where the villages namely Hamam Markoot, Doniwari, Keterdaji, Kutru Naribal, Bramen and Rampor Rajpor are totally disconnected from the district headquarter Baramulla.
The poor people are suffering due to massive power breakdown, road blockades and and scarcity of drinking water, ration etc. All the major roads of upper belt are completely inundated with snow yet to be cleared from the roads, Vakil added.
He urged the UT administration to mitigate the hardship of poor, sick and old people and stressed that the higher-ups in administration need to ensure greater synergy and coordination between various departments. The Government must ensure power, water, ration to the people without any delay and at the same time, emergency services should be monitored and damaged power distribution lines immediately be repaired.
