POONCH, June 15: The people from Purani Poonch and Mohalla Sheesh Mahal today held protest demonstration against PHE Department and blocked Poonch- Rawlakote (PoK) road for about two hours.
The people from these two localities of the city came out on the road and then stopped the movement of the vehicles at around 8.30 AM. Today trucks loaded with goods were scheduled to go to PoK side from here via Chakkan-da-Bagh. They remained stranded on the road. The movement of the vehicles to other villages on this road was also disrupted.
The people alleged that there was no water supply to these localities for the last one week and the PHE authorities have failed to ensure water supply. Even no supply through tanker was ensured. Later, SHO Poonch Jatinder Raina, Naib Tehsildar and AEE PHE moved to the spot and assured the public that supply will be restored within next 24 hours, then they lifted dharna.
