KATHUA, Mar 21: People protested against MLA Basholi and former Health and Medical Education Minister, Ch Lal Singh during a Kissan mela at Dhar Mahanpur in Basholi Assembly Segment near here, today.
As Ch Lal Singh stood up to speak during the Kissan mela some farmers assembled there interrupted him and expressed their serious concern over the bad condition of roads in the area. They alleged that Dhar -Mahanpur road has not been completed for last 25 years and DPRs are called in peace meals with the result people are facing many hardships.
The farmers said the lack of road connectivity was the main problem as the employees could not reach their offices in various villages of the area in time.
This provoked the MLA and he too spoke some thing in bad taste. The tempers ran high and the gathering assembled in the Kissan mela started shouting slogans against the MLA.
Reports reaching here said that later the son of Kissan who is also working in Health Department and had come to see the Kissan Mela today was placed under suspension by Health Department authorities.
Sarpanch Dhar Mahanpur, Gian Chand when contacted said that there was an altercation between the protesting farmers and MLA.
