RAJOURI,  Aug 2: The villagers from Reyon in Kandi (Kotranka) area today held strong protest and blocked road for about three hours.
The family members and relatives of the youth killed in bike-truck  accident near Rajouri recently, came out on Rajouri-Budhal  road at Reyon village at around 9.30 AM and started protest against Rajouri police.   They alleged that bike of young  Talib Hussain from Reyon village was hit by unknown truck near FCI store in Rajouri five days back. Despite police assurance,  the truck could not be traced after five days.
They raised slogans against Police and local administration and alleged that senior police officers of Rajouri have failed to work out the case and arrest the accused driver. They said that the other youth injured in the accident is struggling for life and police is least bothered. Even one truck driver detained by police has also been released.
A large number of vehicles remained stranded on the road for long. The local police from Kotranka failed to pacify the agitating villagers. Then  Addl SP Rajouri,  Tahir Saleem arrived there and he assured the people to trace the vehicle shortly and arrest the accused. The people then lifted dharna at around 12.15 pm and cleared road.
