People protest, demand resumption of rail service

RAMBAN, Feb 2: People held protest at railway station Banihal demanding resumption of rail service between Banihal and Baramulla.
As per reports, a large number of people from business community, students and Congress workers assembled at railway station Banihal and held protest. They raised slogans demanding resumption of rail service between Banihal and Baramulla.
While speaking, Former MLA Vikar Rasool Wani said that since lockdown, which was implemented in wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the rail service between Banihal and Baramulla remained suspended.
“Due to suspension of rail service between Banihal and Baramulla, people are facing acute hardships”, he said, adding that the rail services are restored in other parts of the country and rail service between Banihal and Baramulla should also be restored.
Former MLA demanded restoration of rail service between Banihal and Baramulla within week time.
With a warning to intensify their protest and block Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, the protestors dispersed.
