POONCH, July 31: The villagers from Harni area of district Poonch held protest demonstration against PDD authorities for power failure in the area for the last one week and blocked Mendhar- Surankote Road for some time.
Official sources said that electric transformer at Harni village went out of order more than a week back and the locals approached concerned PDD officials to replace the damaged transformer and restore power supply but the concerned officials failed to restore power even after one week.
The agitating villagers came out on the road near Harni and started protest against PDD and local Administration. Later, Naib Tehsildar concerned and SHO Gursai went there and pacified the protesting people and assured to take up the issue with higher officials.
