UDHAMPUR, Mar 9: Local-es in Subash Nagar area today held a strong protest against Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) Departm-ent for its failure to provide ration for the last three months.
The agitating people raised slogans against the CAPD Department and urged the Governor to personally look into their grievance.
Further, they added, the Government had announced that new ration cards would be made available before January 2016 and ration will be supplied as per new ration cards from the start of new year, but it is unfortunate that till date new ration cards have not yet been and ration.
The protesting people also staged a sit in and blocked road for some time. They threatened to protest again if the Government remains mute spectator to their grievance.
