MENDHAR, Mar 30: The villagers from Banola and adjoining areas held protest demonstration and blocked road for about two hours today.
The residents from Bhati Dhar and Banola came out for protest and blocked Mendhar-Chhatral road for about two hours from 10.30 onwards today. They were raising slogans against R&B Minister, Chief Engineer PMGSY and Executive Engineer concerned. The movement of traffic remained suspended up to 12.30 pm. They alleged that R&B has acquired land of the people for Bhati Dar-Banola road under PMGSY. But the people have not been given compensation. They raised slogans against PMGSY authorities.
Later, SHO Mendhar Bishnesh Kumar and Naib Tehsildar Altaf Hussain Shah reached there . They assured the people to take up their issue with the PMGSY authorities. The people then lifted dharna.
