RAJOURI, June 21: The people from Samote village today held protest demonstration and blocked Rajouri-Budhal road for over two hours.
The trouble started after heavy rain in the area, massive water entered the shops and local Govt Higher Secondary School complex. It caused extensive damage to the public property.
At around 2 pm, the school children and locals of the area including traders, came out on the road and raised barricades. They blocked the road and started protest demonstration. They alleged that due to blockade of drains and absence of drains in some areas, the rain water has entered school and shops. They held GREF, PWD and RDD authorities responsible for it.
Later, Tehsildar Budhal, SHO and Naib Tehsildar reached the spot and pacified the protesting people. On their assurance, the people cleared the road and allowed movement of traffic at around 4.15 pm.
