People protest as banks’ ATMs remain empty

POONCH, Dec 2: The people from Mendhar town today held protest against failure of SBI  and other banks authorities  to provide adequate cash in the ATMs installed in the  Mendhar town.

The people who arrived the local  SBI ATM to collect cash in the morning found that there was no cash and even in the afternoon it was showing empty on its computerized screen. The people including youth staged brief protest  and alleged that the ATM of all other banks also remain empty in the Mendhar town  and there was no proper check on the agencies engaged for supplying currency in the ATM machines in Banks.
The customers often suffer in view of empty ATMs in this border town of Mendhar. One Jamal Din alleged that he had gone top SBI ATM to collect some cash for making purchases for the home but he was disappointed to see  empty ATM there. He said this was not his first experience, he has already faced such situation many times. He alleged that the local ATM remains cashless for days together.  The banking authorities have failed to provide proper services.
Another youth Mohd Ajaz alleged that on Eid festival, he could not purchase gifts for the family members  and his dear ones  as he went without cash. He said the concerned Bank officials when contacted  claimed that they were shortage of cash.
