Rajouri, May 14: People from lower Jawahar Nagar and Thudi areas of Rajouri town today staged a massive protest against Public Health Engineering Department and kept the main Rajouri – Kotranka road blocked for hours. A large number of people of the area assembled on the main road and blocked it for vehicular traffic shouting slogans against PHE Department. They said that since last several days water supply in their area is affected and people are striving hard for single drop of water but PHE department is least bothered about it and its officers are not showing any concern to this.
Later, SHO Rajouri YPS Jamwal rushed to the spot and pacified the situation by assuring the people that the matter will be taken up with the senior officers of PHE as well as district administration to address the same.
