JAMMU, July 5: The residents of Toph Neelam Colony along with the activists of Young Panthers held protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) for imposing unscheduled power cuts during the ongoing hot and humid weather condition and demanded regular power supply.
The protest was organized by the Dixit Sharma along with Bhanu Partap Singh Goria President Jammu West YP and Arun Mehra District Vice President YP in the presence of Partap Singh Jamwal Senior Young Panther, JKNPP.
Addressing the media persons, Partap Singh Jamwal alleged that for the last few weeks the people of this area are facing lot of problems due to power fluctuation and unscheduled power cuts. The water supply has also been hit due to unscheduled and long duration power cuts, he added.
Partap said that during these hot summer days, long and unscheduled power curtailment has made life miserable. He added that worst affected due to long duration and unscheduled power cuts are patients, old age persons and children.
Local Corporator Rajinder Singh also joined the protest and said that these days when the temperature is rising above 42 degrees, the PDD department has failed to ensure regular power supply.
Among others present were Om Parkash, Lalit, Varun, Manav, Devinder etc.
