DODA, June 3: The residents held protest against Power Development Department (PDD), here.
The protestors assembled near village Wanipura and held protest against PDD. Amid slogans, they demanded regular power supply in the left over villages falling in Tehsil Kahara.
While speaking, the protestors said that several villages in Tehsil Kahara like Gonoori, Kunthal, Draman, Wanipura, Bagran, Suranga, Ghouru, Katsu and Bani are without electricity since several decades and no one from the administration is serious about this.
People especially students are facing immense hardships due to non-availability of electricity, they said, adding that the aforesaid villages have been ignored by all the previous regimes.
“We have been forced to live in darkness in the present digital age”, they said, adding that despite repeated pleas, nothing has been done by the administration to provide electricity to these villages.
With the warning to intensify their protest if their issue is not redressed in the shortest possible time, the protestors later dispersed.
