RS PURA, Dec 31: Former Dy Chief Minister Tara Chand along with former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ex MLA Thakur Balwan Singh, President of J&K High Court Bar Association, M K Bhardwaj and others addressed a Jan Sampark Rally at RS Pura.
Speaking on the occasion, Tara Chand said that Jammu and Kashmir has suffered immensely during the recent years and all eyes were now upon the secular and credible options to correct the wrongs committed in governance. “People of J&K want early elections, restoration of statehood & employment,” he added.
Reiterating that the decision to drop him from DAP did come as a surprise, Tara Chand said that what was shocking was the manner and method of communicating it. “Notwithstanding this, I am very grateful to Azad Sahib to give me the opportunity to contribute in whatever small way I could in accomplishing his Party’s vision of addressing the distressing situation in and around Jammu and Kashmir which has jeopardized the security, peace and prosperity of the people of J&K,” he said, adding that his association with Azad dates to those years when he wasn’t even formally into politics and the rapport he enjoyed with him was something that he would cherish all his life.
Former Minister Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, while speaking on the occasion, caution the BJP Government to correct its flawed approach and work for rebuilding the trust and restoration of normalcy in J&K. He said that without an elected Government people of J&K are being neglected and overlooked.
Expressing disappointment over BJP’s lip-service regarding burning issues of J&K, he termed it as “futile exercise to reach out to the common man and address public issues.”
Former MLA Thakur Balwan Singh, in his address, said that Modi Govt during last eight years of period has proved most traumatic and devastating for the youth, farmers and traders of the country.
President JKHCBA, MK Bhardwaj alleged that the Government was turning a blind eye towards the apprehensions and concerns of people of J&K, especially Jammu region.
The rally was organized by Sarpanch Badrinath Sharma of Panchayat Halqa Kotli Shah Doula, RS Pura Jammu South constituency, who along with Vinod Sharma, Narinder Sharma and Dr Ramesh Sharma also addressed the gathering.
