RAJOURI, June 11: The people from Sunderbani town including traders locked the office of Municipal Committee Sunderbani and held strong protest against the concerned authorities today.
A large number of people from the town including members of the Beopar Mandal came at the MC office and put a lock at the main gate and started protest demonstration outside the office. They were raising slogans against the Executive Officer and other staff of the Municipality.
These people alleged that local toilets have been constructed near Bus Stand for the public, which were in bad shape, dirty and lying in dilapidated condition. The MC authorities were requested a number of times to get them repaired and make arrangements for cleanliness but they have turned a deaf ear towards the public plight.
Later, Tehsildar Sunderbani and SHO Devinder Katoch reached the spot. They took up the issue with the EO MC Kabir Malik who assured the agitating public to start work immediately. The irate mob opend the lock and then suspended protest.
