JAMMU, May 5: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today said the people of J&K were feeling alienated in their own land in wake of the absence of any popular Government.
He said the people of J&K were feeling vulnerable absence of a democratically elected representative Government, adding that they were fed up of the development deficit plaguing it.
He lamented that the people of J&K were the worst hit in absence of an elected Government, for the fact that there was no one who could listen and address the issues concerning people in a best possible manner.
Assailing Govt for letting down people, especially youth, former Minister said growing public disenchantment was reflection of Govt failure on all the fronts.
“The youth are dismayed while the people belonging to all segments of society are at the receiving end due to mis-governance and non-performance of the Government”, Bhalla added.
He said it were the J&K authorities who have shown complete indifference towards J&K’s stranded people and have refused their return to their homeland adding that these hapless J&K residents have been compelled to continue staying at Jammu, Kathua and Samba leaving them vulnerable to infections of the deadly disease.
He urged the Lieutenant Governor of J&K that all stranded J&K residents including students, pilgrims and traders who are held up in different quarantine facilities across the country despite their tests showing negative for COVID-19 be immediately brought back to their homeland.
He further urged the administration to take measures for mitigating the sufferings of people on war footing.
Bhalla asked for working out a plan for door-to-door distribution of ration and other essential commodities to consumers to avoid long queues and large gatherings at ration depots.
