JAMMU, Feb 17:  Launching a  scathing attack on the Coalition Government in the State for its  total failure, PCC chief,  Ghulam Ahmad Mir has said that there is total policy paralysis due to inherent contradictions and divergent vested political interest amongst the two diametric opposite ruling partners PDP-BJP.
Mir said that the PDP and the BJP, the two coalition partners, were pulling in opposite directions in their functioning and lack of coordination has left the people disappointed and State was passing through worst ever misrule. “Over three years have passed but not a single promise made to the people of the State  by the two parties – the BJP in Jammu and the PDP in Kashmir,  has been fulfilled,” he said.
Mir claimed that the two parties were divided on the sensitive issues facing the State. He accused the State Government of  “failing” to live up to the expectations of the people of the State and addressed the problems of border residents, farmers, youths, employees, casual labourers and traders. “Every section of the society is suffering as their grievances are not addressed. They are only concerned about welfare of their families and kith and kin. Large scale favouritism, nepotism and corruption prevails in the State,”  Mir alleged.
“The PDP-BJP has played with the sentiments of the people who voted them to power. People are fed up with their policies and the government has proved to be a utter failure. We have taken to the streets against governance deficit, lack of development and failure of the Government to deliver on the promises made to the people of the Jammu and Kashmir,” Mir said while interacting with prominent persons of Gandhi Nagar constituency.
Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla along with prominent leaders of constituency were also present on the occasion.
Mir lashed out at the PDP-BJP coalition regime for creating an atmosphere of “total chaos, confusion and uncertainty” in the State in the last three years of its rule. He  said the present Government was “directionless” due to absence of any common point in their respective agendas. He expressed serious concern over the “vitiating atmosphere” of peace  in the State due to the “wrong polices” of the present Government.  He  cautioned the people about the “designs of communal and divisive forces” in the State which were constantly on a lookout for opportunities to strike and create hatred.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said that  failure of the PDP-BJP Government on deliverance front and mitigating the problems arising out of erratic power and drinking water supply, dilapidated roads, malfunctioning of utility services, availability of sub-standard rations at the Government depots, worse condition of health and hygiene in the constituency has made the life of people a hell. “The Government is missing on ground and the people have nowhere to go to seek redressal to their accumulated problems, he added.
