KATHUA, Feb 12: The common man is facing problems due to lack of basic transport facilities to the villages of Sample Solla and Nadoli of Kathua district. A deputation of these villages met with DC Kathua here, today and apprised him the problems being faced by them due to lack of transport facilities to their villages.
The deputation including the Rakesh Kumar, Sheela Devi, Lajwanti said that there is no transport service including the Matador and Auto rickshaw to their village Sample Sola connecting Jarai, Nadoli to Kathua. The villagers and students were facing problems to reach Kathua without public transport. The public transport issued the route permits by the authorities do not connect these villages, they added.
They said villagers are forced to hire special Auto Rickshaws with higher prices which is not affordable to them. They appealed the administration to arrange plying of buses, matador and auto rickshaws on uncovered routes.
They said the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya and some other schools are also facing problems in such a way that the transport services engaged before the COVID lockdown have refused to continue for schools. The transporters ready to continue service are demanding highest fare. The parents are suffering a lot to transport their school children in private vehicles which has become costly. The deputation led by Kamal Kishore also urged district administration to look into the matter and fix the fare genuinely so that school children may not suffer any more.
