People demand construction of passenger shed at Thathri Chowk

JAMMU, July 5: People from different villages of Sub Division Thathri has demanded construction of passenger shed at Thathri Chowk where hundreds of people waiting to board passenger vehicles of their routes, suffer a great deal during rainy and hot conditions due to its non availability.
Talking to the Excelsior, locals of the area stated that Thathri Chowk is one of the most busy points in town where hundreds of people can be seen waiting for vehicles of their routes.
The chowk remains busy as the passenger buses and other commercial vehicles for most of the routes are available here and it is the need of the hour to construct a passenger shed for the convenience of passengers, they added.
“Passenger vehicles of Bunjwah, Kahara, Doda, Kishtwar, Gandoh, Batyas, Jakyas, Jammu, Prem Nagar, Gowari, Changa, Chilly, Dunadi, Batri, Chanyas, Drabshalla, Saroor, Tatani, Patnazi and other local routes are available to people from Thathri Chowk due to which this point remains heavily rushed”, they stated.
They said that even after such a crowd, authorities have not even bothered to construct a passenger shed thereby making common masses suffer.
Gurukesh Gupta Vice President Municipal Committee Thathri said that the concerned authorities never bothered to construct a shed here for the convenience of passengers despite repeated requests.
A school going student Mohammad Sharief said that hundreds of college and school going students waiting for vehicles on Thathri Chowk face immense hardships in rainy and hot weather conditions due to non availability of passenger shed.
The people appealed to the authorities for the construction of the passenger shed for the benefit of the masses.
