People can’t forget golden era of Azad Govt in J&K: Tara Chand

JAMMU, Oct 20: Former Dy Chief Minister and senior leader of Democratic Azad Party (DAP), Tara Chand today said that people of J&K can’t forget the `golden era’ of development during the regime of Gulam Nabi Azad as Chief Minister of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
He was speaking in the public meetings at Bishnah, R S Pura and Suchetgarh constituencies along with Central Zonal Committee members of Democratic Azad Party.
While addressing former Dy CM said people cannot forget the golden era of development when Ghulam Nabi Azad was Chief Minister & Union Minister. He said a large number of developmental projects were initiated and even completed during tenure of Azad on fast track and triple- shift basis.
He said creation of new districts was also gifted by then Chief Minister, GN Azad to the masses. Azad is the only leader who is loved by all and there is no other leader of his stature in the region, Tara Chand asserted.
He said Ghulam Nabi Azad is always the first choice of masses as a Chief Minister of J&K and requested people to support him to become the Chief Minister of J&K again.
Former minister and DAP general secretary, RS Chib said statehood should be restored with full legal, land & job rights to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. He further appealed the delegates and the public to the wholeheartedly support Gulam Nabi Azad and assured the people that the DAP will provide a corruption free administration with equitable development of all areas of Jammu & Kashmir, giving special focus on deprived areas. He criticised the current regimes for ignoring border areas with regard to over all development.
Senior DAP leaders including former minister Jugal Kishore Sharma, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Ch Garu Ram, former MLA Balwan Singh, E-MLC Subhash Gupta, President Bar Association MK Bhardwaj (Adv) and senior leader Vinod Mishra also addressed the gathering.
