DODA, July 1: People living in Manoo village of Block Chilly in Sub District Gandoh awaits road connectivity since Independence.
As per the reports, Central and Jammu and Kashmir Government are spending crores of rupees for providing road connectivity in far flung areas of hilly areas in District Doda, but the people living in Manoo village of Block Chilly in Sub District Gandoh awaits road connectivity since Independence.
“For the betterment of people living in far flung areas, crores of rupees are being spent on road connectivity, but our village awaits road connectivity since Independence”, a resident told the EXCELSIOR.
He said the road connectivity exits only on papers and nothing have been done on the ground. A foot road was to be supposed turned into a motorable road, but till today nothing has been done and the funds sanctioned have been swindled by the concerned department officials, he alleged.
People of Manoo village of Block Chilly face manifold problems in absence of road connectivity, the residents said, adding that due to non-availability of road, the ailing people were to be shifted to hospitals on make shift stretchers.
In the past, many people lost their lives due to non-availability of road connectivity to our village, they said and demanded immediate enquiry into the funds sanctioned for the construction of the road to our village.
“During elections, the leaders visiting our area assure of road connectivity, but once the elections are over, they never turn back”, the residents said, adding that in the coming time, the so called leaders will face the fate of their false and fake promises made with the people.
When contacted, Mohd Idrees Lone, Assistant Development Commissioner (ACD) Doda assured of conducting an enquiry in this serious issue of road connectivity to village Manoo. He also assured that construction of road to village Manoo will start very soon.
“The officers or officials responsible for the delay in the construction of the road will be taken to task”, he asserted.
