Pensioners, power employees delegations call on MD PDC

JAMMU, Mar 9: A joint delegation of Pensioners and Senior Citizens Welfare Forum and Electric Employees Union called on MD Power Corporation, Shah Faisal here today and discussed the various issues of employees and pensioners with him.
The delegation demanded that the low grade employees of PDC serving in far off areas be posted in their home localities on available posts.
The delegation expressed the hope that the MD will reform the Corporation for the betterment of the people and its employees. The delegation was led by Mir Ghulam Rasool and G M Bhat (Hamdarad) trade union leaders and they were accompanied by Mustaq Ahmed Shopiani vice president Electric Employees Union Kashmir.
The delegation demanded regularization of daily wagers, benefit of technical grades and taking up new power projects in hand as the State has a lot of potential for generating hydro electricity.
The delegation while discussing the issue of New Ganderbal Power Project appealed the MD that the work on the project be started as for last two decades this project has not been constructed though it was conceived in 1975.
The delegation said that with the construction of New Ganderbal the power supply problem could be solved to some extent in the area.
