Pensioners highlight demands

RAJOURI, July 10: The State Pensioners under the umbrella of All J&K State Pensioners Association met here today and highlighted their demands.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of State general secretary, Madan Lal Abrol.
The participants criticized the State Government for not solving their long pending demands including enhancement of Medical Allowance from existing Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month and release of 3rd installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears.
Speaking on the occasion, Abrol criticized the State Government for not solving the grievances of old pensioners, who have completed the age of 80, 85, 90 and 100 years. He complained that only 5% State pensioners have been getting the benefit of enhancement of pension by 10%, 20%, 40%, 75% and 100% with raising age.
He criticized the Government for not giving the benefit of recently issued SRO 57 to the pre 2006 retirees.
The Association warned the Government to solve the grievances of the pensioners at the earliest.
