JAMMU, Sept 24: J&K State Pensioners/ Senior Citizens Welfare Association has demanded release of third installment of 6th Pay Commission arrears.
In a meeting of the members of the Association held here today under the chairmanship of Shakti Gupta, provincial president at Gandhi Nagar, the members including R C Rekhi, chief spokesperson, B D Verma, general secretary and P N Bhat pointed out that despite repeated requests to the State Finance Department, the issues of the pensioners have remained unresolved.
They sought the intervention of Finance Minister A R Rather in this regard. They said Finance Department has already agreed in January 2012 to release the arrears but nothing has done so far. They also demanded implementation of Medi-claim Insurance policy for the pensioners and enhancement of Medical allowance besides release of 10% DA installment with effect from July 2013.
