JAMMU, Dec 8: A meeting of the core group of State Pensioner Association held today under the chairmanship of Mukand Lal Sharma, wherein the members discussed burning issues of the pensioners and demanded early release of 3rd installment of 6th Pay Commission.
The meeting criticized the Government for its fictitious official statement that the 3rd installment of 6th Pay Commission has been given to the State Employees, which was due in the month of July this year.
He urged the Government to release 10% DA which was due since July 2013, besides enhancing pension with increasing age as per the analogy of Central Government.
Other demands of the Association included merging of 50% DA with the basic pension, release arrears of SRO 57 with effect from January 1, 2006, release of 6% DA from June 2009 to Oct 2009 pending with the Finance Department, enhancement of Medical Allowance from Rs 300 per month to Rs 1000 per month etc.
