JAMMU, Jan 10: Jammu Kashmir Pensioners and Senior Citizens Forum (JKPSCF) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Mir Ghulam Rasool has demanded that the pensioners of the erstwhile State be also given the benefits of pension as per the rules of Union Territory as has been done in case of the employees.
The meeting said that the pensioners who served the State for decades together need also be given the same benefits which are given to the regular employees under UT rules and there should be no discrimination in this regard.
The meeting which was addressed among others by Comrade Baldev Raj Sharma, Haji Mohammed Sultan Mir, Farooq Ahmed and Roshan Lal Raina also discussed various other issues being faced by senior citizens and pensioners. The meeting while discussing the problems of general masses of the UT demanded that more advisors needed to be appointed to aid and advice the LG and look into the burning issues of the masses.
They made an appeal to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi in this regard urging him that more advisors from some reputed ex IAS and IPS officers of the J&K be appointed as advisors to LG who are fully acquainted with issues of the people of the UT.
