Pensioners apprise Chief Secy of demands

JAMMU, Mar 5: A deputation of J&K State Pensioners Association, led by Abdul Majid Khan and Krishan Singh, called on Chief Secretary Mohd Iqbal Khandey and submitted him a memorandum highlighting demands of the pensioners.
The Association demanded payment of 6th Pay Commission arrears in one installment, release of DA arrear, enhancement of monthly Medical Allowance, restoration of commuted pension after 12 years instead of 15 years, amendment in J&K Treasuries Code to verify authenticity of pension cases, etc.
The Association also urged the Chief Secretary to issue necessary direction to the concerned departments for ensuring that the pensioners may not face difficulties while drawing their monthly pension and identity cards.
The Chief Secretary gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured to take necessary action on their demands.
The deputation comprised of Abdul Hafeez Fani, Kabla Singh Parkash and Amarjeet Singh.
Meanwhile, a deputation of All J&K Low Paid Government Employees Federation also called on the Chief Secretary and apprised him of various demands.
