KATHUA, Nov 16: Express-ing their satisfaction over the decision of the authorities in holding Departmental Promot-ion Committee (DPC) meeting for EM&RE Circle Kathua, president Provincial Electric Employees Union (PEEU) P C Sharma today termed it a great victory of the employees.
Talking to reporters here, today along with Kewal Singh district president of the Union, Sharma said the personnel initiative taken by SE, EM&RE Circle, Kathua, Umesh Sharma Under Secretary PDD, Ashok Kumar Jagotra, A O DPC and Executive Engineer Kathua EM&RE Division Sandeep Seth has made the convening of DPC possible after a long time.
This way a long pending demand of employees was settled, he said, adding prior to January 2015 there was no provision of holding DPC at Circle level in Jammu province and this was a great discrimination with the PDD employees of this province.
He said the Union took an onus to fight against this injustice with the employees and made a representation before the then Principal Secretary Power, A K Mehta for convening of DPC at Circle level in Jammu province also as was done in Kashmir valley.
After hearing the genuine arguments of Union representatives the Principal Secretary Power issued order for convening of DPC at Circle level, Sharma added.
Sharma stated that this is first DPC meeting convened in EM&RE Circle Kathua which issued orders of 87 promotions from the pay scale of 2550-3200, 2610-3540 and at the same time daily wagers were too regularized in terms of SRO 381 against the vacancies created through promotions.
He said the Union has taken up the most genuine issue of PDD employees including daily wagers with the Government and these all will be resolved in shortest span. He also appealed the employees to strengthen the Union.
