SAMBA, Oct 8: Provincial Electric Employees Union (PEEU), Jammu today held a meeting here at its headquarter under the chairmanship of its president, PC Sharma, to reconstitute the provincial body of the union.
The meeting which was attended by leadership of units and sub-units of the union unanimously elected PC Sharma as president, Darshan Singh Verma as senior vice-president, Dev Raj, Ajeet Singh, Sat Dev Slathia and Mohd Ashraf as vice-presidents, Pawan Kumar as secretary general, Joginder Kumar as joint secretary, Bishan Singh as publicity secretary, Ashwani Sharma as cashier, Janak Raj as chief organizer and Rabinder Goswami as organizer.
Vikram Singh, Shivdev Singh, Ashok Kumar Sambyal, Vijay Singh Kotwal, Shiv Charan Singh and Barkat Hussain were elected as senior members of the body while Rashpal Chand, Surinder Kumar, Subhash Chander, Gopal Dass, Ashok Padha, Anil Kumar Sambyal and Bodh Raj were elected as members.
While speaking on the occasion, PC Sharma assured the members that the union will do its best to solve the grievances of the employees and get their demands like implementation of SRO 59 on the analogy of Kashmir, conducting of DPC meeting at all levels, decentralization and simplifaction of employees’ welfare schemes at Chief Engineer level, ex-gratia relief to the accident victims of PDD employees, regularization of daily wagers with a concrete policy as done in SRO 64 of 1994 and running grade/ technical grade with its initial start pre-revised (4000-6000) at entry level to all PDD employees, fulfilled.
Sharma also extended the union’s support to the strike of daily wagers of different departments and appealed all the employees to remain united for their common cause.
