PEEU for implementation of SRO 64

JAMMU, Mar 7:Provincial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) Jammu has reiterated its demand regarding implementation of SRO 64, conduct of DPC and implementation of Recruitment Rule Number 381 vide Order Number 78.
The Union president, P C Sharma while talking to reporters here today also demanded regularization of daily wagers working in the Department for over 20 years and stressed that adequate steps be taken to ensure the security and safety of power employees especially linemen and other workers working in field.
Sharma said that 107 linemen have lost their precious lives while serving the Department. He alleged that the Department was responsible for their death and irreparable loss to their families as they have not been equipped with the proper safety tools. He said it is unfortunate that their families were not given ex-gratia till date which is also a cause of concern.
He said it is very sad that the employees of PDD who are lighting the houses of the people are still wandering in darkness and Government was not paying any heed to their demands.
He said that Government had agreed in principle to give notionally increments but did not put its words into deeds. Besides the DPC is not being conducted in time which is a cause of concern for employees.
