PEEU highlights demands, warns agitation

JAMMU, Sept 7: Provincial Electrical Employees  Union (PEEU) in its monthly meeting here, today held under the chairmanship of its president PC Sharma demanded immediate settlement of its long pending demands.
The meeting demanded retrospective effect to the already regularized daily wagers who qualified in terms of SRO 64 of 1994, amendment in PDD service recruitment rules 381 of 1981, release of technical grade to all IIT and equivalent in terms of SRO 149 of 1973, clarification regarding implementation of SRO 59 in Jammu province, starting diploma courses for in service employees on Government expenses, opening of new EM and RE Division in Kathua with its headquarter at Basholi, regularization of daily wagers and amendment in PDD Employees Welfare Scheme.
The Union earlier took up these issues with Deputy Chief Minister and urged him to fulfill the commitment by framing a policy for regularization of all daily wagers engaged in different departments by amending  or extending SRO 64 of 1994.
The Union also warned to launch strike in case Government fails to concede the demands.
Bishan Singh, Darshan Verma, Pawan Kumar, Ajit Singh, Rajan Singh, Goswami, Janak Raj and others also addressed the meeting.
