KATHUA, July 26: One pedestrian was killed after hit by a truck on Jammu -Pathankot National Highway at Sunjma Morh near Rajbagh in Kathua district this evening.
He has been identified as Tirath Ram , 65, of village Dhanyari in Kathua district. He was crossing the road when a truck bearing registration number PB 06L 2769 coming from Punjab towards Jammu hit him.
He was shifted to District Hospital Kathua by police where he succumbed to his injuries. His dead body has been kept in mortuary at DH Kathua and it will be handed over to family after postmortem tomorrow.
The driver of the truck Balwant Singh has been arrested by the Rajbagh police and truck has also been seized by the police which has registered a case against the driver under relevant sections of the law.
