This has reference to the article ‘Launch peace initiatives for the Valley’, DE Sept 15.
Peace must prevail in the Valley without further loss of life and property. The delay may cause further mayhem. The security personnel and protestors have suffered much. To calm down the tempers, it is necessary that everybody contributes in the process.
It is incumbent upon both the Government and the Hurriyat leaders to find a way out of the crisis. There should be no clash of egoes. It has been seen that no sincere effort is being made to bring peace. Mainstream political parties are seen muddying further the troubled waters. There have been arguments and counter arguments flying thick and fast only to vitiate the already surcharged atmosphere.
It is quite agonising that protestors are using children as shields to achieve their objective.
There can be no settlement unless peace initiative are launched. So, it is necessary that both the parties should stress for talks.
