PDP ridicules CM directions to NC Ministers for mass contact

JAMMU, Feb 8: Terming four year performance of National Conference led coalition regime as “completely undemocratic and anti-people”, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has dashed all hopes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued here today, former Minister and spokesman of the PDP Sardar Rangil Singh ridiculed directions given by the Chief Minister to its Ministers to connect with the people. “It is too late because the present Government through its anti-people policies has already disconnected itself from the common masses and such cosmetics steps for publicity are not going to change the badly dented image of this regime”, Sardar Rangil Singh said and added that during the last four years this Government has done nothing to mitigate woes of the common masses.
Credibility of this Government has already reached to its lowest ebb and the much touted directions of the Chief Minister to its Ministers to meet the people was nothing but a gimmick to hoodwink the masses, Singh said.
“During the last four years the present regime has failed to connect itself with the people who have realized that this regime has become a non performing liability on them”, he said.
PDP spokesman said that strengthening democratic institutions was the only way to involve people in the democratic process and to connect activities of the Government with the common masses. However, he said, the present regime has systematically dismantled all such institutions just to keep powers at the hand of some persons.
