KISHTWAR, Jan 14: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reached out to the masses at the grass-root level even when it was denied mandate by the people of Chenab region in consecutive elections.
This was stated by Member Legislative Council (MLC) Firdous Tak while addressing a gathering here today.
He said that people of Kishtwar have since long faced the brunt for supporting National Conference and giving mandate to this party since last around three decades.
“The BJP which projected itself as an alternate also betrayed the mandate and failed to address the issues confronting the masses”, he said adding that the party instead of providing relief to people only complicated the situation and added to the miseries.
“For us it is not only the electoral politics, but beyond that. Our focus has been to serve the masses and we will continue to do that”, he said.
Tak said that the strength of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lies in its agenda and cadre, who have stood up against the regional and national political establishments with a hope of peace, prosperity and development.
“Initiation of thought-process for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue was the biggest achievement of PDP and the party’s this contribution has been admired even by its opponents as well”, he said.
“The formation of Governments at two occasions, first in 2002 and second in 2015, in J&K was not our achievement as attaining power was never the basic focus of the party but only means to achieve the goal”, Tak added.
