PDP, NC crying hoarse, ruled J&K like monarchs: BJP

JAMMU, Dec 30: Those who deprived J&K people of their democratic rights by either not holding elections or unnecessarily delaying local body polls besides not implementing 73rd and 74th amendments of the Constitution are now crying hoarse. Political outfits like PDP, Congress and NC never cared to decentralize powers and instead ruled the erstwhile J&K State like monarchs only for their personal benefits.
This was stated by BJP J&K Executive Member, Raman Suri in a handout wherein he also said that PDP, by using abusive language, is showing its true colours and still it is not addressing people’s issues.
“More than political outfits, it is the independent candidates backed by common masses who have shown enthusiasm in seeing powers getting decentralized for the first time since independence. This is the victory of commoners who pinned their faith in democracy and will now create a new leadership to address issues of their own people,” Suri further said.
He claimed, those using words like ‘coercive measures’ or ‘intimidation’ are the ones who never gave easy access to commoners to the corridors of power and kept them at a bay.
Congratulating the young and dynamic faces that swept the recently concluded DDC polls Suri said, they have given a befitting reply to these divisive forces.
“Having lost its cadres both in Jammu as well as in Kashmir, these parties are still claiming to be people’s voice,” he maintained adding: “These parties are still living in illusion and talking about restoration of Article 370, talk to Hurriyat or Pakistan.”
He said much water has flown down the river and it’s high time such political outfits realize the ground realities and join masses out to change the fate of J&K.
