Govt suspends 13 employees

Srinagar, Dec 30: The Government today suspended 13 employees of the Power Development Department (PDD) and Finance Department in fake appointments case registered by the Crime Branch Kashmir 2 years ago.
The employees were suspended under Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956 who were involved in FIR No. 25/2018 Police Station, Crime Branch, Kashmir.
“Pending enquiry, the following delinquent officers/officials of Power Development Department and Finance Department have been placed under suspension, with immediate effect, in terms of Rule 31 of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control & Appeal) Rules, 1956,” read an order issued here by the GAD.
The employees suspended include Mohammad Yousuf Baba, the then Executive Engineer, PDD Sumbal, Aftab Ahmad Khan, the then Executive Engineer, PDD Sumbal, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, the then Senior Assistant, PDD Sumbal, Riyaz Ahmad Wani, the then Junior Assistant, PDD Sumbal, Ab. Khaliq Dar, the then Helper, PDD Sumbal, Shazia Ahad, the then Junior Assistant, PDD Sumbal, Ab. Rashid Bhat, the then Head Assistant, PDD, Sumbal, Farooq Ahmad Banday, the then Head Assistant, PDD, Sumbal, Hilal Ahmad Naik, the then Head Assistant, PDD Sumbal, Gh. Hassan Malik, the then Junior Assistant, PDD, Sumbal, Farooq Ahmad Khan, the then AAO, PDD, Sumbal, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, the then AAO, PDD, Sumbal, Gh.Mohi-Ud-Din Sofi, the then AAO, PDD, Sumbal.
The case is regarding fake appointments and it was registered by the Crime Branch Kashmir in 2018. The employees who were suspended were involved in the fraud. The CB carried out searches and seized the relevant record and later FIR was lodged.
The employees of the PDD, who have been suspended by virtue of an order issued, were posted in Sumbal back then. The action has been taken after the passage of 2 years of registration of FIR in this regard.
