SRINAGAR, Jan 21: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senior leader and MLA Elect Amirakadal , Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari has invited the attention of Governor N N Vohra towards plight of employees working in Government schools across the State under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) schemes who are suffering for want of salaries for the last over six months.
In a statement issued here, Bukhari urged Governor to take up the matter with Union Ministry for Human Resources and Development (MHRD) and facilitate the release of salaries in favour of teachers’ and secretarial community working under different flagship programmes like SSA and RMSA.
Bukhari said that the non-payment of salary to EVs, Clerks, ReTs, Regularized ReT teachers, Masters and Headmasters for the last over six months despite repeated assurances and commitments made by the authorities of Education Department from time to time has rendered their families in a pitiable condition. “Though the authorities have assured these employees working under SSA/RMSA that their pending salaries would be released before November 30, the MHRD seems least bothered about their plight,” the MLA Elect remarked while inviting attention of Governor towards this serious issue.
Expressing concern over the non disbursement of second installment of central share by the MHRD, Bukhari said the state administration has been put in a dithering situation created by the liability of around Rs 900 crores central share required to be released for clearance of the pending salaries of employees working under RMSA and SSA.
The MLA Elect also expressed serious concern over the reduction in salary packages of masters working under RMSA by the MHRD.
