SRINAGAR, July 14: Several senior leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have made a fervent appeal to the people for maintaining peace in Kashmir Valley.
A meeting of office bearers of district Srinagar of People’s Democratic Party was held today, which was presided over by the party general secretary Nizamuddin Bhat and also attended by the party legislators.
During the meeting, the party cadre was activated to seek people’s support for the restoration of order in Valley.
The party cadre has been directed to make sufficient contribution in retrieving the situation through compassionate approach and public participation. The party cadre will also be part of the social work being undertaken to reach out to injured, effected and impacted families.
The meeting appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister in ensuring that security forces and police observed total restrain and sufficient measures have been taken by administration to ensure adequate and smooth functioning of essential services throughout the Valley.
The participants of the meeting made a fervent appeal to the people, civil society and political parties to make a common cause in saving the society from further loss.
The meeting expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad happening which took toll of innocent lives.
The party functionaries of Srinagar district including district president Khurshid Alam and all seven zonal presidents, legislators Mohd Ashraf Mir, Noor Mohd, Abdul Rahim Rather, Anzum Fazili and Saifudin Bhat, prominent leaders Raja Aizaz, Dr Ali Mohd, Abdul Hamid Koshin , Parvez and others attended the meeting.
