PDP leaders to be allowed to meet Mehbooba

JAMMU, Oct 29: The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leaders from Jammu region are likely to be allowed their first meeting with party president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who was under detention since August 5 in Srinagar as the district administration today responded to the party request and sought names of the leaders who will meet Mehbooba.
PDP leader and former legislator Ved Mahajan, who had approached Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Choudhary for facilitating their meeting with Mehbooba, told the Excelsior that he has received an email from the Deputy Commissioner seeking names of the party leaders from Jammu who will like to meet Mehbooba Mufti.
Mahajan said he will be forwarding names of the party leaders to the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar shortly to seek meeting with Mehbooba.
Describing response of the district administration Srinagar as “positive and encouraging”, Mahajan expressed confidence that they will be allowed to meet the party president in Srinagar shortly.
