PDP leaders, Mahant, kin of Abdullahs, Aijaz, ex J&K PM, bureaucrats among encroachers

11 NRIs based in Dubai, US too beneficiaries of Roshni
Many businessmen, doc working abroad figure in list

JAMMU, Nov 25: Office of one of the PDP leaders, prominent religious leader Mahant Manjeet Singh, relatives of Abdullahs and former Minister Aijaz Khan, who is now with Apni Party, 11 Dubai and United States based businessmen, three families of retired IAS officers, relative of former Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Mohammad Bakshi, sister of Actor brothers Feroz Khan and Sanjay Khan, retired IGP and SSP and several prominent businessmen including Mohammad Amin Trumboo figured as Roshni and encroached land beneficiaries in yet another list released today.
As per the list, Rashid Malik, a leader of the PDP has set up the party office at Sunjwan on outskirts of Jammu City over three kanals encroached land while another party leader Talib Choudhary has grabbed two kanals of Government land at Channi Rama and constructed residence and shop there.
Prominent religious leader Mahant Manjeet Singh, Trustee of Digiana Ashram is beneficiary of seven kanals land under Roshni Scheme.
Haji Sultan Ali, a businessman has encroached upon 30 kanals of land at Channi Rama.
Zehan Din, relative of Aijaz Khan, former Minister, who was earlier in Congress and presently in Apni Party has encroached two kanals land at Sunjwan. Khan has been elected as MLA from Gool-Arnas thrice and is presently contesting the District Development Council (DDC) elections in Reasi district.
Retired Inspector General of Police Nisar Ali is encroacher of three kanals land at Channi Rama while retired SSP Mirza Rasheed has also encroached three kanals of State/Forest land at Sunjwan.
Ghulam Hassan Bakshi, Nazir Ahmad, Mohammad Shaffi, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Qayoom sons of Bakshi Ghulam Nabi, relatives of former Prime Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Ghulam Mohammad Bakshi got approved one kanal 5 marlas land but didn’t pay the amount and continued illegal occupation of the land.
Prominent businessman Mohammad Amin Tramboo and his wife Sarwa Begum of Buchwara in Srinagar too got approved five kanals one marla land under Roshni Scheme but didn’t make payment and went ahead with illegal occupation of the land. Similar are the cases of Mohammad Aslam Matoo, a relative of Abdullah family, Jagdesh Mehta, a businessman and Dilshad Sheikh, Sheeba and Saba Sheikh, a prominent family, which got approved one kanal, four kanals and eight kanal five marlas land respectively under Roshni Scheme but made no payment and kept land under their illegal occupation. Dilshad Sheikh is sister of Actors Feroz Khan and Sanjay Khan.
Retired IAS officer Farooq Ahmad Shah and families of two former IAS officers including Manzoor Ahmed Shah son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah and Fehmeed Shah wife of Farooq Ahmad Shah of Rajbagh Srinagar were also beneficiaries of Roshni Scheme.
Significantly, 11 NRI businessmen based in Dubai and United States were too beneficiaries of Roshni Scheme in Srinagar.
They include Muhammad Iqbal Shahdad and Asmat daughter of Abdul Gani Shahdad, both residents of Saldagar, Naseema, Reyaz Ahmad Shahdad, Abdul Rashid Shahdad and Showkat Ahmad Shahdad, children of Abdul Gani Shahdad of Nishat, Abid Shafi, Shaheena Shafi Shahdad and Bashir Ahmad Shahdad children of Mohammad Shafi Shahdad of Nishat, Mohammad Shafi Shahdad himself and Misra Begum wife of Abdul Gani Shahdad.
Two handloom businessmen Imtiyaz Ahmad Shah of Nishat and Mohammad Shafi Shah of Rajbagh, cloth merchants Vishal Khanna and Vikas Khanna, a foreign based doctor Mushtaq Ahmad Bakshi and Mohammad Saleem Bakshi, TATA Showroom businessman have also been listed as beneficiaries of Roshni Scheme in Srinagar.
Abdul Rahim Naqashbandi, Zahida Naqashbandi, Farida Naqashbandi and Shahida Naqashbandi, who happened to be son, wife and daughters of Mubarak Shah Naqashbandi of Rajbagh Srinagar, related to a political family, are also beneficiaries of Roshni Scheme.
One Shamsher Singh son of Kala Ram has been beneficiary of 23 kanals of agriculture land.
