Srinagar, Dec 16:  People’s Democratic Party (PDP)  general secretary Nizamudin Bhat has demanded fair distribution of solar lights to un-electrified Gujjar population.
He said despite clear instructions from concerned Minister for identification of legitimate beneficiaries, there are reports of misuse at the ground level.
Bhat said that those habitations which really deserve attention, are being neglected and the field staff do not entertain complaints.
Bhat said it is unfortunate that the Gojjar Board recommendations also are given deaf ear. He said that in Bandipore District most of the genuine aspirants from tribal population are either denied the audience or are being left at the mercy of touts who indulge in alleged malpractices and favoritism.
He demanded that DDC’s and ADC’s of all districts be asked to monitor the whole process and Gujjar Board members be consulted for proper identification and distribution of the lights in the state.
