JAMMU, June 17: Former MLA Gandhi Nagar and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today alleged that the PDP-BJP combine has become non-performing liability for the people of the State.
While interacting with people at Kunjwani in Jammu south today, former MLA claimed that the security situation in the State was in bad shape. It has gone from bad to worse due to the failure of the Government on all fronts. Militancy is up in Kashmir and border areas are being targeted in ceasefire violations. People are getting killed. The BJP-PDP Government and the Centre have “bitterly” failed to deal with situation.
Expressing grave concern over the killing of a leading journalist in the heart of Srinagar City and the abduction and killing of an Army person Aurangzeb, Bhalla said that the continued attacks by militants during unilateral ceasefire in the holy month of Ramadan is a indication of very grim situation in the Kashmir valley. He said that this shows that those behind these killings and violence have no faith in any religion and should be dealt with sternly and eliminated to ensure the safety and security of people.
He accused Central Govt of mishandling of the Kashmir situation and containing militancy. Bhalla said that it has failed in its primary duties to maintain law and order and to ensure the safety and security of common people and thus has lost moral right to continue in office in the wake of rising militancy and continued killings of common citizen and large number of security personnel. This Govt has become liability for the people of this State.
Bhalla lauded the role of security personnel in dealing strictly with stone-pelters and said the country stands firmly behind the security forces.”We laud the role of the security forces in dealing strictly with the separatists and stone-pelters. The people stand firmly behind the security forces and the Army,” Bhalla said.
He said J&K is an integral part of the country and any attempt by Pakistan or separatist forces to disrupt peace and harmony should not be tolerated.
