PDL, TDL workers stage protest, project issues

Srinagar, Mar 1: All J&K PDL/TDL employees today protested and demanded the release of their wages including regularization of their services in the department.
The representatives of the employees said that they are being subjected to indifference by the administration, which, as per them, is not paying heed to their issues which they are facing for a long now.
“We are demanding regularization and only of those workers should be carried out whose DPC has been conducted in the year 2019 at the same time, we also demand the release of pending salaries of several PDL/TDL employees,” they said.
They also said that the files of those who are working in the department must be forwarded to the concerned so that their seniority fixed. “It should be done without any further delay,” they said.
They alleged that the Government is turning a blind eye towards the employees who have had accidents while they were on duty.
“Such workers have not been compensated in any manner and we demand that a proper compensation or ex-gratia should be approved by the Government,” they demanded.
They also said that they are protesting against the alleged high-handedness of the officials in the department that the casual labourers are facing. “At the same time, we also impress that the file of relaxation which is gathering dust at the Civil Secretariat must also be cleared,” they demanded.
The warned that if the Government fails in resolving their issues, they would be forced to go on indefinite strike.
“We worked hard for the restoration of power during the snowfall, but no one is there to take care of our issues. The Government has been resorting to delaying tactics so far, but we want to impress that the Government fails in addressing our issues, we will be forced to go for an indefinite strike,” they warned.
